At the end of Week 2 in our Every Step Counts Challenge, we have now surpassed our initial 4,000km goal! We have registered a super healthy 6,655km in combined steps which is a wonderful effort by all involved whether you are taking some small steps, walking, active in the gym or running. Those combined efforts have us currently sitting in the Top 25 on the Ulster Club Leader Board!
As we approach the midway point of the challenge, there will be a 5K walk through the village at 10am this Sunday morning, 25 January. Meeting point will be The Rusheen. This is open to everyone and all are welcome whether you are taking part in the challenge or not.
And for those that do want to sign up, there is still plenty of time and the mid-way point is a good marker to get you going.
All you need is a phone. Make sure you are using a fitness wearable, either a physical tracker or by having your phone on you.
Once you are signed up, Connect (your Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Health or Google Health) to MyLife, tap Track < Trackers < Select your tracker < Tap Connect. Then log into your tracker eg Fitbit or Google Health, and ensure you allow steps, activities and distance to be shared with MyLife.
Once you are signed up, go into the MyLife App, the Ulster Challenge, find Devenish and check you can see your name. If you can’t see your name, follow the sign up guide below. If you can see your name but cannot see your steps, try the Connect steps above.
To sign up, Download the MyLife by Irish Life from the App Store or Google Play for free, and follow the steps. Select Ulster as your province and then find Devenish St Mary’s and join the challenge. Track your activity as above with a fitness wearable such as a Fitbit or Garmin or fitness app wearable via your phone such as Apple or Google Health connected to the MyLife app.
