Club chairman Gerard O’Brien pictured with Mary and Pamela Dolan following the presentation of £7,000 for the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the two community defibrillators which were purchased in Damien’s memory.
The proceeds were raised over a weekend in January when the club organised a 5K run and walk through the village and a charity football match to mark what would have been Damien’s 40th birthday.
In an initiative led by the Dolan family following Damien’s death in 2005, two defibrillators were installed in Garrison. One is located on the club grounds, while the other is located at Devenish Villas in the village.
Mary and Pamela wish to extend their sincere thanks to everyone in the club who helped organise both the 5K run and walk and the match. They also want to thank everyone who participated in either event, made a donation or showed their support in any way.
Damien’s 20th anniversary Mass will take place in Mary Queen of Peace Church at 7pm this Saturday evening.
