To mark what would have been Damien Dolan’s 40th birthday (14 January) and to help raise funds for the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of two defibrillators purchased in his memory, the club will host a challenge match at 1.30pm on Sunday 16 February.
In an initiative led by the Dolan family following Damien’s death in 2005, two defibrillators were installed in Garrison in his memory. One is located on the club grounds, while the other is located at Devenish Villas in the village.
The match will see our current senior team take on a team made up of Damien’s teammates; a challenge game sure to provide plenty of entertainment! Donations will be collected at the gate.
Meanwhile, the Garrison Run4Fun group will host a run and walk the morning before, on Saturday 15 February. Anyone who would like to support the fundraiser in this way, is asked to gather at The Gillaroo at 9.30am where the group will set off on a 5k walk and run. This will be followed by coffee in The Bilberry where everyone attending can make their donation there. This walk and run will also round off the Every Step Counts challenge so we would encourage as many who can, to please get out and involved.
And to top things off, the club is raffling a €250 voucher for MacNean House and Restaurant in Blacklion. You can now purchase lines at £5 a piece here:
